Hello and welcome!

I’m so pleased that you are interested in the therapy and assessment services offered at Canyon Pines. I am a Licensed Psychologist and Licensed School Psychologist. I earned a Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.) degree from University of Colorado Denver, where I received the Outstanding Doctoral Graduate award from the School of Education and Human Development. My doctoral research focused on suicide risk assessment and suicide prevention, and I am passionate about supporting the mental health of youth and adults who are at-risk of suicide. In addition to school-based settings, my pre-doctoral training included a year at the Barbara Davis Center for Childhood Diabetes, where I provided treatment and evaluation services for children and families experiencing difficulties with mental health and/or treatment adherence associated with type 1 diabetes. I am also experienced in the evaluation and treatment of conditions such as learning disabilities, ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, depression, anxiety, grief, and exposure to trauma.

I began working with young people as a special education teacher yet quickly realized the importance of mental health in student achievement and overall wellness. As of June 2022, I am very excited to be transitioning to full-time clinical practice at Canyon Pines. I previously worked as a school psychologist in Cherry Creek School District and -- being intimately familiar with school systems and special education programming -- am happy to collaborate with school-based providers as part of a treatment plan. I primarily utilize solution-focused and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) approaches, and firmly believe that one of the most important aspects of any therapeutic experience is the quality of relationship between the therapist and client. On this foundation, I strive to help individuals connect with a sense of meaning and authentic purpose.

I’m a lifelong Colorado resident and recently moved to Parker with my wife and three daughters. We love it here! In my free time, I enjoy hiking, swimming, and reading. As a parent, I know that the experience of one child can impact the whole family. Seeking support can be a hard thing to do, and I am committed to being a collaborative part of your family’s healing process.
