Lindsay Straka, MSW, LCSW
Hello! I am excited that you have taken this step to enhance your well-being and live your best life in seeking support through therapy. I believe that the most important part of therapy is the relationship between the therapist and client. I look forward to seeing if I would be the right fit for you. I work with children, adolescents, and adults.
I have my undergraduate degree in Psychology from the University of Colorado and my Master’s in Social Work from the University of Denver. I have over 25 years of experience working with children, adolescents, adults, families, athletes, and members of the LGBTQIA+ community. I have worked in schools, residential and day treatment, child welfare, criminal justice, inpatient and outpatient medical settings, and athletics.
My experience includes working with people who have struggled with trauma, depression, anxiety, grief/loss, eating disorders, chronic illness, coming out and identity questions, suicidal ideation and self-harm behaviors, perfectionism and more. My approach to therapy is person-centered and identity-affirming. I utilize Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).
I am a Colorado native and former two-sport collegiate athlete. I enjoy spending time outdoors with family, friends, and our two dogs. I love cycling, skiing, hiking and my new passion is pickleball!
